Track changes to Proton Mail and the Proton suite with RSS feeds
If you're a Proton user and curious about changes being made to Proton Mail, Proton Calendar, or any other product in the Proton suite, you may have realized that keeping up can be difficult. Updates to bug fixes are easy to miss, product changes are buried deep within code repositories, and discussions around feature requests go unnoticed. So we've made the following RSS feeds available to make keeping up with Proton changes much more simple.
Proton Product feeds
All suggestions, feedback, and bug reports on Proton's products are posted on Proton's UserVoice site. Users can also vote on each post to influence their prioritization. The site is separated into sections for each Proton product, and we've made RSS feeds available for each of those sections.
You'll just need to navigate to the section directly and add openrss.org
to the beginning of the URL in your browser location bar. We've made RSS feeds available for the main sections listed below.
RSS feeds are also available for all other sections like General Ideas and Accounts & Payments. And because the RSS feeds work dynamically, an RSS feed will automatically be available for any new section Proton may add in the future.
Product Category feeds
If you want a more focused feed with less noise, there's an RSS feed for every sub category within each product section on the Proton UserVoice site. For instance, the Proton Mail section has a different category for Web, Mobile, and Desktop, which each now have their own RSS feed.
Listed above are just the few we've pointed out, but there's an RSS feed available for every category by just navigating to it on the Proton UserVoice site, and adding openrss.org
in the browser location bar.
Product comments feeds
If you're interested in the comments posted on specific issues and discussions, you can get an RSS feed for those as well by navigating directly to the page on Proton UserVoice site and adding openrss.org
to the beginning of the URL in your browser bar. Below is an example RSS feed for all comments made on a user's suggestion to add a search function to Proton Calendar.
Changelog feeds
Proton provides a changelog for its Proton Mail Web app, but because it's embedded in the code inside their GitHub repository, keeping track of the changes is impossible without constantly checking the page. So we've made the content available through an RSS feed that can be accessed at the following URL.
Releases feed
Proton doesn't always produce a changelog of release notes for every change made to its products. For instance, the Proton Mail Web app is frequently updated without any release notes, but the release tags are hiding out here on GitHub. If you're a software engineer or know your way around code, our RSS feeds for Proton's release tags below can be useful.
The tags don't contain much detail, but you'd at least be aware of when a new release is created, and you can navigate to it and see what code was changed.
Blog feed
In case you wanted to keep up with more high-level announcements, Proton also has a blog with an RSS feed of its own. Subscribing to that could be a great addition to your collection of Proton RSS feeds to stay up-to-date on new product releases.
Feeds for a better Proton
Whether you're interested in following new bugs reported or just curious if that feature you've been waiting for is gaining traction, these Proton RSS feeds will give you the transparency you need to keep up with the progress. They'll also help increase your awareness of what's happening with Proton's products, so you can join in on the discussions and provide input—especially when your voice is critical to Proton's success.
