Thunderbird users are unable to use Open RSS feeds

Requests from the Thunderbird application are being made to the Open RSS server for multiple RSS feeds, all at the same time. These requests are consuming large amounts of resources and, as a result, are being blocked. As a result, Open RSS feeds are unusable for these Thunderbird users.

  Verified that requests from IP addresses with the Thunderbird user agent are coming from users of the Thunderbird application—most likely from its built-in RSS functionality.

  Some of these requests are tripping rate limits and the originating IPs are being blocked.

  The issue appears to only be impacting roughly 3% of requests using the Thunderbird agent. However, a resolution should be swiftly obtained to ensure all Open RSS users get the best possible experience.
