Newsboat access restricted due to excessive feed requests
Resolved
-
Excessive requests are being made to multiple feeds all at the same time due to the application not spacing out its requests, which significantly degrades the performance of the service.
Recent logs have detected ~138 requests over 16 minutes. Another instance shows 18 requests made all in the same millisecond. The system continues to automatically restrict the application's access to feeds temporarily to prevent significantly degrading the service for other users.

This issue has been resolved and is now being mitigated by restricting the application's requests through our abuse protection. Because Newsboat is not a verified reader, it will continue to be automatically restricted when excessive requests are made—even if those requests are made across multiple IP addresses and regardless of their User Agent.
If you are a Newsboat user and donating at least $25 or more per month to help with server costs, please contact us for a special token that can be added to the application that will remove these restrictions.
