Feedbin shows "Connection Error" when importing Open RSS feeds
Resolved
The "Connection Error" message doesn't give any information, so we're unable to determine the cause of the error.

Upon receiving this error, the application allows the user to replace the Open RSS feed with some similar feed it suggests by clicking the "Replace Feed" button. But some feeds that are being suggested as a replacement are problematic or lacking information when compared to the Open RSS version, which is why a user may prefer not to have their original feed be replaced.
When the application cannot recommend a replacement feed, it lists the feed on the "Missing" tab along with the "Connection Error". The user is then left with no known alternative to bulk importing the feeds.

Issue initially identified and raised internally.
-
A user has reported that the issue also appears on Open RSS feeds to which they are already subscribed. And, as a result, Feedbin is no longer showing newer items in the feed.
-
Feedbin support reached out to acknowledge there is an issue and the feed errors are due to Feedbin being rate limited by Open RSS.
-
We've responded to explain that Feedbin is being rate limited due to the excessive amounts of requests being made for feeds at one time. We've given specific recommendations for Feedbin to avoid this, which will also prevent the rate limiting. Once the recommendations we've given are made to Feedbin, it will resolve this issue and possibly issue 129 as well.
