Craigslist RSS feeds

Craigslist once offered RSS feeds, but have since removed them, even despite users requesting that they be restored. They even removed all discussions about "RSS" from their feedback forum 😳. But don't worry, you can still continue to keep up with Craigslist postings from within your RSS reader using Open RSS feeds that also come with a few added benefits.

Section feed

Get an RSS feed to follow any posting listed in a specific section with the following steps.

  1. Go to craigslist.org.
  2. Click on any section.
  3. While on the page, add openrss.org/ at the beginning of the URL of the page in your browser bar.
  4. Navigate to the updated URL to generate the Open RSS feed.
  5. Add the RSS feed to your RSS reader.

Section search feed

Steps below will get you an RSS feed that contains any new postings on the site that contain a specific search term.

  1. Go to craigslist.org.
  2. Click on any section.
  3. Perform a search by typing a search term in the search bar.
  4. While on the page, add openrss.org/ at the beginning of the URL of the page in your browser bar.
  5. Navigate to the updated URL to generate the Open RSS feed.
  6. Add the RSS feed to your RSS reader.

Site search feed

Get an RSS feed for postings that match any search term across the Craigslist site.

  1. Go to craigslist.org homepage.
  2. Perform a search by typing a search term in the search bar.
  3. While on the page, add openrss.org/ at the beginning of the URL of the page in your browser bar.
  4. Navigate to the updated URL to generate the Open RSS feed.
  5. Add the RSS feed to your RSS reader.

Post feed

Once you've found a Craigslist posting you're interested in, you can generate an RSS feed that tracks updates made to its content. Below is an example of how an item looks in the feed when a post is updated.

  1. Go to any individual listing on craigslist.org.
  2. While on the page, add openrss.org/ at the beginning of the URL of the page in your browser bar.
  3. Navigate to the updated URL to generate the Open RSS feed.
  4. Add the RSS feed to your RSS reader.
