Apple RSS feeds

RSS feeds are available for any Apple Podcast after just simply navigating to any podcast page on Apple's website.

1. Go to podcasts.apple.com (you can also do this while on apple.com, btw).
2. Click search icon in upper right.
3. Type in the podcast you'd like to find.
4. Click on the podcast title in the results to take you to the podcast landing page.
5. While on the page, add openrss.org/ at the beginning of the URL of the page in your browser bar.
6. Navigate to the updated URL to generate the feed.
7. Add the feed to your reader app.

As an example, here's how to get the RSS feed for the Ted Radio Hour podcast.

1. Navigate to discussions.apple.com.
2. Select a topic.

Get an RSS feed of all comments left on an individual thread in Apple's Discussion forum.

Bandcamp RSS feeds

A feed for everything published by the artist (e.g. features, lists, album of the days, etc).

A feed for all music posted by an artist.

Beehiiv RSS feeds

Keep up with the archives of any Beehiiv user with the following steps.

1. Go to any Beehiiv user's archive (e.g. opensourcewatch.beehiiv.com/archive).

3. Navigate to the updated URL to generate the feed.

Bing RSS feeds

Generate and subscribe to RSS feeds that allow you track the results of any search term across the Microsoft search engine, Bing.

1. Navigate to bing.com.
2. Type in any search term in the search box.

Bluesky RSS feeds

Bluesky offers its own feeds, but we also offer an improved version of them that include the following:

• Video and image thumbnails
• Self-replies
• Quoted replies that include the quote
• Embedded links

1. Go to any user's profile on a Bluesky instance (e.g. bsky.app/profile/jay.bsky.team).
2. While on the page, add openrss.org/ at the beginning of the URL of the page in your browser bar.

Instead of using Bluesky feeds offered by Open RSS, you can use Bluesky's feeds directly. To get a user's profile feed:

1. Navigate to any user's profile on any Bluesky instance (e.g. bsky.app/profile/jay.bsky.team).
2. Right click to inspect the HTML on the page.
3. Find the <link> tag with the application/rss+xml identifier.
4. Copy the feed URL in the href value of the <link> tag. It should look similar to https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:oky5czdrnfjpqslsw2a5iclo/rss.
5. Paste the copied value in a new tab in your web browser.
6. Navigate to the URL, which should show the feed.
7. Add the feed to your reader app.

Craigslist RSS feeds

Craigslist once offered RSS feeds, but have since removed them, even despite users requesting that they be restored. They even removed all discussions about "RSS" from their feedback forum 😳. But don't worry, you can still continue to keep up with Craigslist postings from within your RSS reader using Open RSS feeds that also come with a few added benefits.

• Supports feeds for postings in any Craigslist section
• Feeds filtered to postings that match a search term
• Feeds for edits made to an individual Craigslist posting

Get an RSS feed to follow any posting listed in a specific section with the following steps.

1. Go to craigslist.org.

Once you've found a Craigslist posting you're interested in, you can generate an RSS feed that tracks updates made to its content. Below is an example of how an item looks in the feed when a post is updated.

Discourse RSS feeds

If you've participated in forums on the web, you're likely to have used one powered by Discourse, perhaps even without realizing it. A feed can be generated for any Discourse forum using the steps below.

1. Navigate to any page on a Discourse forum, discuss.privacyguides.net for example.
2. Type in any search term

eBay RSS feeds

When eBay got rid of its RSS feeds, not only did users express concerns on popular forums like Reddit, but even on eBay's own forums.

Fortunately, we've succeeded at making eBay RSS feeds available again, so you can get updates on new listings back into your RSS reader. The feeds support eBay categories and listings by search term, works for multiple eBay domains, and includes the full-text of the listing in each feed.

Get an RSS feed of new eBay listings posted that match a search term.

RSS feeds for many of eBay's domains are supported including the following:

Facebook RSS feeds

Get an RSS feed for a GitHub organization's Discussions by doing the following:

JustWatch RSS feeds

The number of filters available on the JustWatch website is quite extensive. You can sort and filter titles by genre, price, rating, release year, and more. But having a single RSS feed for everything on the site can clutter your RSS reader, and you'll end up scrolling through a lot of titles that you may not be interested in. Instead, you can grab a JustWatch RSS feed after applying filters on the website in three simple steps.

1. Go to justwatch.com.
2. Use the filters to narrow down your results.

This will generate an RSS feed using the filtered results. For example, here's how you would get an RSS feed for all recent movies in the Musical genre that have been released in the past year.

When viewing the JustWatch website, movies and TV shows aren't shown in order of their release dates by default. At the time of this writing, there's currently no way to sort or filter titles by their release day. Instead, titles are shown in the order JustWatch decides to publish them. So RSS feeds for these pages will reflect this same random ordering. However, as a small workaround, you can try narrowing down titles by the year they were released by filtering by "Release year" before generating the feed, as shown below.

You can obtain an RSS feed after applying provider filters. This comes in handy if you want only movies or TV shows on a specific streaming service (provider) like Netflix-only, Hulu-only. You can also do combinations of providers. To get a provider-filtered RSS feed, follow the instructions below.

1. Navigate to justwatch.com.
2. Use the navigation bar at the top to click on a section ("Popular", "New", or "Sports") section (e.g. justwatch.com/us)
3. Optionally click on "Movies" or "TV Shows" (e.g. justwatch.com/us/movies) if you want to only see results from either.
4. Select any provider from the menu (e.g. Hulu, Crunchyroll, etc) to filter the results by provider.
5. While on the page, add openrss.org/ at the beginning of the URL of the page in your browser bar.
6. Navigate to the updated URL to generate the feed.
7. Add the feed to your reader app.

JustWatch has a collection of curated lists that may be of interest. You can get an RSS feed for those as well with the instructions below.

3. Click on "TV Shows" (e.g. justwatch.com/us/tv-shows).
4. Click to a specific TV show in the listing (e.g. justwatch.com/us/tv-show/parks-and-recreation)

Kickstarter RSS feeds

Get an RSS feed of the latest Kickstarter projects based on a search term.

3. Optionally filter the results to your liking (only sorting by "Newest" is supported).

Lemmy RSS feeds

Lemmy has it's own RSS feeds, and we encourage you to use them. But if you want a few more features you can use Lemmy RSS feeds provided by Open RSS, which provide the following benefits.

• User profile feeds
• Local, All, Community, and Federated Timeline feeds
• Feeds for a search term
• Get a feed for all comments in a single Lemmy thread
• See the the context of a reply that a Lemmy comment replies to
• All links are scoped to the instance for which the RSS feed has been generated

You can also get an RSS feed for any comments on a post within a community by navigating to any post and adding openrss.org/ to the beginning of the browser bar. As an example, the RSS feed for the Beehaw post at beehaw.org/post/494131 is shown below.

It's possible to get an RSS feed for Local and Federated ("All") timelines on any Lemmy instance as well. They can be sorted by Hot for the hottest posts, Active for the most active posts, or New for a real-time feed of posts as soon as they're created.

An RSS feed can be generated for Federated ("All") timelines on any Lemmy instance. They can be sorted by Hot for the hottest posts, Active for the most active posts, or New for a real-time feed of posts as soon as they're created.

Feeds are now available for Mastodon, an open-sourced and decentralized alternative to traditional social networks! You can get a feed for a Mastodon user, hashtags, along with home, local, and federated timelines on any Mastodon instance supported.

Although Mastodon has its own feeds, Open RSS feeds offers alternative feeds with a few added improvements.

• Supports All, Local, and Federated timelines including hashtags
• All links are localized to a single instance
• Replies and boosts can be filtered out
• Includes replied-to posts in context
• Doesn't require creating an account or logging in

Get an RSS feed of the posts and comments of a user on any Mastodon instance.

1. Navigate to any user's page on a Mastodon instance.
2. While on the page, add openrss.org/ at the beginning of the URL of the page in your browser bar.
3. Navigate to the updated URL to generate the feed.
4. Add the feed to your reader app.

For example, the RSS feed for @Mastodon is at the URL shown below.

RSS feeds for home, local, and federated timelines on an instance are supported. For example, here are the RSS feeds for the mastodon.social instance.

Get an RSS feed for posts that contain a specific hashtag.

1. Navigate to any Mastodon instance (e.g. mastodon.art).
2. Click on a hashtag in any post to go to a hashtag result page (e.g. mastodon.art/tags/photography).
3. While on the page, add openrss.org/ at the beginning of the URL of the page in your browser bar.
4. Navigate to the updated URL to generate the feed.
5. Add the feed to your reader app.

After subscribing to a user's Mastodon RSS feed, instead of just seeing only that user's post, you'll also see the post they've replied to. For example, if you were to subscribe to the RSS feed for @alice's timeline, you'd see the post @alice has replied to first, then her reply below that, as shown below.

Following a user with RSS feeds keeps you updated with their posts, but knowing when the user has boosted another post is helpful as well. So each boosted post appears in the feed as a separate item. They're also prefixed with "Boosted:" to easily filter them out if needed.

Using Mastodon RSS feeds allows you to keep up with the content from any user on an instance without actually following the user or even logging in, so you can still browse Mastodon while sustaining your level of privacy. But this privacy respect goes both ways. So if a Mastodon user makes their posts private, we respect their wishes and don't include that content in the RSS feeds.

Medium RSS feeds

Get an RSS feed for all of a user's posts on Medium.

1. Go to medium.com.
2. Navigate to any user's profile (e.g. medium.com/@ev) or the user's subdomain (e.g. ev.medium.com).
3. While on the page, add openrss.org/ at the beginning of the URL of the page in your browser bar.
4. Navigate to the updated URL to generate the feed.
5. Add the feed to your reader app.

Meetup RSS feeds

Meetup.com is a great place to find all the latest events in your area. But you have to constantly check the site to know when new events are posted, which can be rather time-consuming. But with Meetup RSS feeds, you can get updates on any new events in your area without ever leaving your RSS reader. On this page, you'll learn how to easily generate Meetup RSS feeds for any area, like for events in New York below.

Get an RSS feed for Meetup events in a specific area.

1. Navigate to meetup.com.
2. Use the search bar at the top to search for events in a location, which will show you a list of results.
3. While on the page, add openrss.org/ at the beginning of the URL of the page in your browser bar.
4. Navigate to the updated URL to generate the feed.
5. Add the feed to your reader app.

Use the instructions below if you'd like an RSS feed that will notify you when new Meetup Groups are created in your area.

3. Navigate to the updated URL to generate the feed.
4. Add the feed to your reader app.

Reddit RSS feeds

Open RSS feeds are available for many different areas on Reddit and offers unique benefits when compared to Reddit's feeds.

• Full content in all feeds
• Includes images
• Supports old.reddit.com links
• Individual feeds for comments made in a Reddit post
• Feeds filtered by a Reddit search term

1. Navigate to any subreddit on reddit.com (e.g. reddit.com/r/modhelp).
2. Optionally apply any filters by sorting by Rising, Hot or Top (defaults to New)
3. Optionally apply frequency by sort by dropdown to Now, Today, This Week This Month, This Year or All Time.
4. While on the page, add openrss.org/ at the beginning of the URL of the page in your browser bar.
5. Navigate to the updated URL to generate the feed.
6. Add the feed to your reader app.

1. Navigate to any subreddit on old.reddit.com (e.g. old.reddit.com/r/modhelp).
2. Due to Reddit not providing a link on its site, you'll need to manually add /comments to the end of the URL in your browser location bar (e.g. old.reddit.com/r/modhelp/comments)

A feed can be generated for all comments on an individual Reddit post.

A feed for any search term across the entire Reddit platform can be generated with the following.

2. Type in any search term in the search box.
3. Optionally, check "limit my search to" to limit the search results to a specific subreddit.

If you'd prefer to use old.reddit.com, all feeds above come with an alternative version that will ensure all links go to old.reddit.com instead of reddit.com. Just use old.reddit.com instead of reddit.com in the feed URL.

If you'd prefer to use feeds directly from Reddit instead of through Open RSS, you can do so using the instructions outlined below.

1. Navigate to any subreddit or post on reddit.com
2. In your browser location bar, add .rss (or .atom) to the end of the URL (e.g. reddit.com/r/redditsecurity.rss)

You can get a feed that tracks all Reddit posts that link to any website.

Follow all your favorite creators on Rumble using RSS feeds with all tracking links removed and that include Livestream support.

Subscribe to any Spotify podcast with an RSS feed that can be used outside of the Spotify platform.

3. Click on the podcast you'd like to subscribe to.

Substack RSS feeds

Substack gives creators a platform to produce their greatest and most valuable content for readers. And now, with Substack Notes and Publication feeds, you can follow all the creators you like in a single timeline in your feed reader app.

Although Substack offers its own feeds, Open RSS feeds give you a few more options, which include:

• User's Notes and replies
• Restacks
• In-context replies made to Restacks and Notes
• Supports feeds at Substack user's subdomain

Get a feed for any Substack user that includes their notes, comments, and restacks.

1. Go to any Substack user's profile (e.g. substack.com/@cb).
2. While on the page, add openrss.org/ at the beginning of the URL of the page in your browser bar.
3. Navigate to the updated URL to generate the feed.
4. Add the feed to your reader app.

You may want to subscribe to a Substack user (e.g. substack.com/@cb) using their custom subdomain (e.g. cb.substack.com/feed). These are helpful in cases where, if the user ever moves off of Substack, in favor of their own custom domain, the feed URL won't need to be updated in your feed reader. You can get a Substack subdomain feed with the following steps.

1. Go to any Substack user's profile using its custom subdomain (e.g. cb.substack.com).
2. While on the page, add openrss.org/ at the beginning of the URL of the page in your browser bar.
3. Navigate to the updated URL to generate the feed.
4. Add the feed to your reader app.

Substack offers its own feeds for user's—it just takes a little more manual work.

1. Go to any user's Substack profile (e.g. substack.com/@cb).
2. Modify the user's ID in the URL of your browser bar and move it to the beginning of substack.com and add /feed to the end of it (e.g. cb.substack.com/feed)
3. Navigate to the updated URL to generate the feed.
4. Add the feed to your reader app.

Telegram RSS feeds

1. Go to any user's profile on https://t.me (e.g. t.me/s/sarcasm9).

YouTube RSS feeds

YouTube already offers feeds for its channels, but they're rather limiting and Google can see which videos you're watching when you use them (if you care). So we've implemented our own alternative version of the feeds with a few added improvements.

• Shorts are automatically excluded (but available in a separate feed)
• Embedded tracking links are removed
• Feeds for YouTube searches are supported
• Upcoming/Premiere content can be easily filtered out

YouTube already offers a feed for channels, but they can be difficult to find on the YouTube website and also include Shorts. If you're looking for an easy-to-use, privacy-focused feed for a user's channel that doesn't include shorts, here's how to get one.

1. Go to any user's channel page on youtube.com.
2. Click on the "Videos" tab.
3. While on the page, add openrss.org/ at the beginning of the URL of the page in your browser bar.
4. Navigate to the updated URL to generate the feed.
5. Add the feed to your reader app.

Instead of uploading an actual video, sometimes YouTube creators will start a YouTube Premiere, which is just a placeholder for the video that hasn't yet been uploaded. They're usually tagged with the word "Upcoming" on the YouTube website and will appear in YouTube feeds by default. But we've prefixed these items in the feed with UPCOMING: which allows you to filter them out in your feed reader if necessary.

By design, the YouTube video feeds mentioned above won't contain shorts. If you'd like a feed of only a YouTube user's Shorts, here's how to get it.

1. Go to any user's page on youtube.com.
2. Click on the "Shorts" section.
3. While on the page, add openrss.org/ at the beginning of the URL of the page in your browser bar.
4. Navigate to the updated URL to generate the feed.
5. Add the feed to your reader app.

You can get a feed of items that match any search term across YouTube with the following steps.

1. Go to youtube.com.
2. Perform a search by typing a search term in the search field.
3. While on the page, add openrss.org/ at the beginning of the URL of the page in your browser bar.
4. Navigate to the updated URL to generate the feed.
5. Add the feed to your reader app.

If there's a playlist you enjoy, there's a feed for it.

1. Navigate to the playlist you want to follow (e.g. youtube.com/playlist?list=PLAl4aZK3mRv0Uw8ja75puTv8yPWYTdErj).
2. While on the page, add openrss.org/ at the beginning of the URL of the page in your browser bar.
3. Navigate to the updated URL to generate the feed.
4. Add the feed to your reader app.

To preserve resources and keep the experience great for everyone, using YouTube feeds does have some limitations.

• To avoid overloading YouTube's servers, feeds are not always updated with new content in real-time, so they shouldn't be relied on for time-sensitive tasks or used as a replacement for real-time notifications.
• The content in YouTube feeds is restricted to only the most recently uploaded content and doesn't show old content in a user's history.
• The content in a feed will only update if the feed is in use.

Even though Open RSS provides more enhanced YouTube feeds, you can always get a feed for a channel directly from the YouTube website if you'd like. They're just hidden, so they're a little harder to find.

To get a channel's feed from YouTube directly:

1. Go to any user's channel page on youtube.com.
2. Right-click to inspect the HTML on the page.
3. Find the <link> tag with the application/rss+xml identifier.
4. Copy the href value of the <link> tag, which is the feed URL. The beginning of it should look similar to https://www.youtube.com/feeds/videos.xml?channel_id= .
5. Paste the copied href value in a new tab in your web browser.
6. Click Go or Enter to navigate to the URL.

To avoid having to do these steps for every YouTube feed, there are several browser extensions you can install that will auto-detect YouTube's feeds and do these steps automatically for you while on the website.
