RSS Feeds

Discourse RSS feeds

If you've participated in forums on the web, you're likely to have used one powered by Discourse, perhaps even without realizing it. A feed can be generated for any Discourse forum using the steps below.

Topics feed

  1. Navigate to any page on a Discourse forum, discuss.privacyguides.net for example.
  2. Type in any search term
  3. While on the page, add openrss.org/ at the beginning of the URL of the page in your browser bar.
  4. Navigate to the updated URL to generate the Open RSS feed.
  5. Add the RSS feed to your RSS reader.

Category feed

  1. Navigate to a Discourse forum, forum.newsblur.com for example.
  2. Click on any Category on the forum (e.g. https://forum.newsblur.com/c/question/8)
  3. While on the page, add openrss.org/ at the beginning of the URL of the page in your browser bar.
  4. Navigate to the updated URL to generate the Open RSS feed.
  5. Add the RSS feed to your RSS reader.

Search results feed

  1. Navigate to any page on a Discourse forum, community.gamedev.tv for example.
  2. Click the little magnifying glass to start a search
  3. Type in any term in the search field
  4. You may have to click "More" to take you to the search results page (e.g. community.gamedev.tv/search?q=resident%20evil)
  5. While on the page, add openrss.org/ at the beginning of the URL of the page in your browser bar.
  6. Navigate to the updated URL to generate the Open RSS feed.
  7. Add the RSS feed to your RSS reader.

Tag feed

  1. Navigate to any Discourse forum (e.g. community.brave.app).
  2. Click on any tag on the forum (usually on the left sidebar) (e.g. community.brave.app/tag/rewards) for example.
  3. While on the page, add openrss.org/ at the beginning of the URL of the page in your browser bar.
  4. Navigate to the updated URL to generate the Open RSS feed.
  5. Add the RSS feed to your RSS reader.
